Dexter Lake Club Band opens up for Vanilla Ice in New York City.
Last weekend the Dexter Lake Club Band opened up for 90’s rapper Vanilla Ice at the Marquee Club in New York City. So we can go ahead and check that one off the bucket list.
It was an amazing New York City crowd. Everyone at the club was ready to party, the crowd danced all night long, and we had an absolute blast [performing! We’ve played lots of shows with lots of bands, but its not every Saturday night that we get to #stop-collaborate-and-listen. We can officially add Vanilla Ice to the list.
It was an Australian themed party, complete with costumes, wait staff dressed in safari gear, and a Vegemite shaped birthday cake. So we busted out tunes from Australian bands: Empire of the Sun, Crowded House, Men At Work, and of course AC DC. Here is a bit of action footage from the gig.
And of course we got some footage of Vanilla Ice. This clip was filmed just shortly before he killed our brains with a poisonous mushroom.
